An old friend that I really love. Far away mostly, and It makes me wonder what the global village means when It comes to having coffee across borders. Sure thing we are more connected and leaving the country does not mean leaving your friends behind. But since this is how we roll now, It is also getting harder to keep up. Facebook and whatever is a river of information. Sometimes good, and other times just garbage. But nothing beats the good old one on one cup of black. So.. here is a friend I miss, and I should go this year, to get that cup of hot steaming local coffee that makes everything seem less global and superficial.

Is the global village getting bigger or smaller ?? I must admit It seems very big when you want to turn off the router and sit down for a talk.

Well.. she is back from NYC and adjusting to bad weather and village mentality. Adventures are short lived, but thats what makes them adventures I guess. Or maybe life is one long adventure… hmm… except for waiting in line at the supermarked.

well.. not much blogging these days. Still manage to charge the 50D from time to time. Here some monochrome shots from a dinner, using a green filter.

Well.. miss firing some rolls of fuji but I might get around to that soon. Also have a roll of TMax.

Loaded with some 100asa. This commi shooter is ready for some action next weekend in the Ukranian countryside. Pretty good lens but tricky camera. This is the fullframe cheap version of the FED 5. Not that big a difference though. No lightmeter, but who needs that fancy modern technology anyway. Perfect condition and not a scratch. The old man I bought It from was happy with the deal. I kept the Clint Eastwood face until I turned the corner. Yeah baby Yeeeeeah. 50 Hryvna :D Bargain of the century :) I will make a print for the guy. For once a local who didnt try to rip off the foreigner. And I will throw in a coffee as a bonus. Apparently there are still honest people left in the world. Hmm.. but what is the C4 explosives doing inside the camera ??? Hmm..

NB: He has a digital Sony camera himself. He was a little confused about why I was buying the FED 5b when I was standing with the Canon 50D/50mm 1.4. Well.. what can I say. Modern cameras have no soul, like the braindead car designers of today. And the FED can take anything you throw at It. Modern cameras are not build for real life. What ?? No metal left in the world or what ?? We live in a time where “cheap & fancy production” seems to be the religion.  Maximize profits and screw the people who buy the things. well.. The AK47, the FED, The MIG. Russians/Ukranians/ruskies/commis sure know how to build solid things.
